Wigmore Hall

VENUE : Wigmore Hall

LOCATION : Wigmore Street, which runs parallel to Oxford Street. The Hall is between the junctions with Welbeck Street and Wimpole Street

TRANSPORT LINKS : Not great for London. You will need to book a cab if you cannot walk for five minutes or more to the nearest transport points. There are many buses which run down Oxford Street, only five minutes walk away. The nearest Underground railway station is Bond Street.

COMMENTS : This is the greatest venue of them all for chamber music. It is a perfect size and has excellent acoustics, allowing the regular and the casual alike to hear the very best of the world class artists which are brought in to perform here. Apart from a short summer break, there is a very regular programme of lunchtime, afternoon and evening events every week.

The ticket prices are not the cheapest, but they represent outstanding value for the quality which is on offer here. This is the best music venue, but it is by no means the most expensive. If you live in London, or anywhere near, this is one place you simply must try out. Book early, as sell outs are very common here.

SUMMARY : This is the best venue in London, and probably in the world, to hear chamber music of the highest standard. There is no negative aspect of this venue whatsoever, apart from the very slight inconvenience of being a long walk (by London standards) from the nearest transport facilities. Become a regular here if you want the very best in music, and are prepared to pay very reasonable prices to hear it.
